Who we are

This website is operated by Groundwork Interiors, an interior design and renovation studio based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. You can reach us at hello@groundworkinteriors.com.

Using this website

You are welcome to read anything here, print it, and quote from it with attribution. What you may not do is reproduce the whole of a project write up or journal entry elsewhere as if it were your own, or use the material to train a system that produces competing content.

The written content, the drawings, the illustrations and the layout of this site belong to us. The typefaces and icons are third party works used under their own open licences.

About the costs shown on this site

Every figure on this website describes a project we have completed, and is included so that you can judge what work of that kind costs. Building costs move, sites differ, and no figure here is an offer or a quotation for your project.

The fees on the services page are our current published rates and are the basis on which we would quote, but the fee for your project is the one written into a proposal after we have seen the space.

Advice on this site is general

The journal sets out how we approach things and what has worked on our own projects. It is written in good faith and it is not a substitute for professional advice on your specific building.

Regulations change, and what is correct for a 1930s semi in Shropshire may be wrong for your house. Anything to do with structure, drainage, fire, gas, electrics or a listed building should be checked by a suitably qualified person for your particular property before you act on it.

When a working relationship starts

Reading this site, emailing us, or having a first visit does not create a contract between us. We are appointed when we have issued a written proposal, you have accepted it in writing, and the first invoice has been paid.

That appointment sets out the scope, the fee, the payment stages, what happens if either of us wants to stop, and the limits of our liability. Those terms govern the work. This page does not.

Availability of the site

We keep this site working, and it is a small static website so there is not much to go wrong. We do not guarantee it will always be available and we are not liable for any loss arising from it being unavailable.

Every link on this site points to another page on this site or opens an email to us. We do not link out, so we take no responsibility for anywhere else you may end up.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will tell you when we last did.
